Surgeon Generals Report on Second Hand Smoke
June 27, 2006: The Surgeon General released a comprehensive and powerful report: The Health Consequences of Involuntary Exposure to Tobacco Smoke
 "The scientific evidence is now indisputable: secondhand smoke is not a mere annoyance.  It is a serious health hazard that can lead to disease and premature death in children and nonsmoking adults."

FDA Approves Pfizer's Anti-Smoking Pill Chantix (Varenicline)
Chantix is only the second stop smoking drug that is nicotine-free.  It is uniquely designed to partially activate the nicotine receptors and reduce the severity of the smoker's cravings and withdrawal symptoms from nicotine.  Furthermore, should a person smoke while receiving treatment, Chantix has the potential to diminish the sense of satisfaction associated with smoking.
